In a previous short post I mentioned that I’m experimenting with prototypes for possible craft and storytelling characters. I’m principally developing craftwork as part of my commercial practice (e.g. possibly as kits to purchase; I’m in the process of reorganising online sales), income from which helps cover IF costs. But I might also incorporate simpler forms within free IF activities or resources.

So far, I’ve posted a few images of the initial trials of the former group (simple ‘folk figures’). So here’s a quick look at one of a the more complex characters that’ll I’m developing; his working name’s ‘Tommy’.

For now, I’ll just say that he’s a late Georgian / early Victorian character who’s recently moved from the countryside to work in industry. (In the feature image, he’s photobombing on a recent trip to Darley Abbey Mills – part of the DVMWHS.) He wears a beribboned outfit as he’s practicing for a forthcoming community festival; he’ll also have another piece of unusual costume soon. I’ll say more about him (and the festival) another time; but for now, ‘bye to / from this IF folk figure.
